Thinking About Things I Don’t Understand

Didn’t know what to do today, weather kinda sucks. I keep telling myself that I should pay more attention to this blog and write more, then I go through the various reasons not to:

  • No one reads it. Well, yeah. So what? As Pancho Sanza said in Man of Lamancha, “If no one listens, then it is just as well, at least I won’t get caught in any lies I tell”
  • I don’t think I have anything important to say, or even if I do, I say it badly. Well, yeah. So what? I keep telling my kids and other youth that I work with that the way to get better at something is to do it. So maybe I will stumble into something worth while. And if not, so what? Nobody reads this blog anyway.

I started this blog a long time ago, with intention of becoming a voice in the environmental movement. But over the years, some things changed. While the environment remains a major concern, and climate change, droughts, fires, and all are still as important, there is a lot more that I want to talk about.

As I started thinking about some of the things that perplex me, ranging from the big questions of “why are we here?”, and “how did we get here?” to the little questions of “what should I have for dinner?” and I decided that I would just let my mind take it wherever it goes. So, in the extremely unlikely event that you either know about this blog, or you are actually reading it, I hope you find some entertainment.
